About Scouts of Australia's Emblem
Scouts of Australia's emblem
contains the traditional scout symbol of a fleur de lis
with a star superimposed in each of the two outer petals.
The fleur de lis is an ancient symbol used to indicate
direction and to scouts represents the three parts of the
Scouts' Promise as guiding principles. The two five-pointed
stars represent the ten points of the Scouts' Code. In
Scouts of Australia's emblem these stars also make up two
of the five stars in the national symbol of the Southern
Cross constellation. The sides of the triangle represent
the plurality of scout organizations that make-up the scout
movement.
The emblem represents the many affiliated scout
organizations existing together in balance and supported by
the central organization - Scouts of Australia.
